A few months ago, The Chronicle interviewed artist and musician David Byrne about a new immersive theater piece he and collaborator Mala Gaonkar planned to launch in Menlo Park on Oct. 27. But as sometimes happens with inventive projects, things didn’t work out as planned. The project hit technical problems, and the exhibition did not open to the public.
“Due to an unfortunate algorithm glitch, a small doll took over our show for a few weeks, and we had to keep humans out,” reported the artists in an email, who sent their message with a fitting photograph. “It’s all been fixed now, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
The show is now scheduled to open Tuesday, Dec. 20.
